21^st April, 1995 Renamed Xinjiang Agricultural University XJAU

Xinjiang Agricultural University (XJAU) is located in Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China. It is one of the best universities under the administration of theXinjiang autonomous government. XJAU has transformed into a comprehensive Agricultural University with many specialized fields including Agriculture, Science, Engineering, Economy, Management, Art and Law. XJAU is a diversified university with the prime focus being agricultural education, while other disciplines such as minority education, natural science, and applied science are also taught. We have specially designed courses specifically for undergraduates with the goal to develop their skills and knowledge. XJAU now boasts 20 faculties

The XJAU main campus covers an area of 100 hectares, with nearly 500,000m² of building floor space. The campus enjoys an elegant and tranquil environment. In addition, XJAU boasts the 6,600 hectare Nanshan practice forestry farm; a 260 hectare experimental farm, and over 170 off-campus practice workshops and production facilities where students practice their skills.

Xinjiang Agricultural University has established cooperative relationships with 58 universities and institutes in more than 18 countries. We have sent out our experts and scholars globally togive lectures and hold trainings and also to attend international conferences. We have also invited distinguished experts, scholars and government officers from more than 20 countries to visit our university and built up cooperation and academic exchange.

International Promotion of Chinese Language 

In 2010, we established the “Kazakh-Chinese Science and Education Center” at S.Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University.

In 2014, we established the first “Confucius Institute” at theUniversity of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan.

In 2015, we established the “China-Uzbekistan Educational Institution and Science Research Center” at Tashkent State University of Economics.

International Student Education 

Since 2012，over 1432 international students from more than 30 countries have studied at XJAU. About 200 international students enrollannuallyin the university. We also have bachelor’s and mater’s degree students other thanlanguage learning students.
